Two illustrations for the New Scientist magazine. This one is about a new generation of touch screen devices, that allows for textures to be displayed and that delivers generally a more haptic experience than the classic touchscreen. Art direction by Craig Mackie. Layout and graphic design by the New Scientist.
As with the Inner Voice drawing, the idea for this one came from art director Craig Mackie, if I remember correctly.
Something just works with this image. Is it the popping green, or the long blue shadows? I don’t know. But I have tried to copy myself several times, getting back to this sweet spot.
